Description of oocyst: Oocyst shape: ellipsoid; number of walls: 1 (in line drawing); wall thickness: "thin"; wall characteristics: smooth, colorless; L x W: 21 x 17 (18-24 x 15-21); L/W ratio: 1.2; M: absent; OR: absent; PG: absent. Distinctive features of oocyst: ellipsoid shape and lacking both OR and PG.

Description of sporocysts and sporozoites: Sporocyst shape: pyriform; L x W: 8 x 5; L/W ratio: 1.6; SB: not described, but line drawing shows 1 end of sporocyst to be distinctly pointed; SSB: absent; PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: granular mass in center of sporocyst; SP: ~5, linearly arranged, surrounding the central, granular SR. Distinctive features of the sporocyst: small size, tiny SB, central, granular SR.

Prevalence: 3/3 (100%).

Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts sporulated within 12 days in 2% aqueous potassium dichromate solution at an unspecified temperature.

Prepatent and patent periods: Unknown.

Site of infection: Unknown. Oocysts recovered from intestinal scrapings of 3 dead N. coucang.

Material deposited: None.

Remarks: This species has not been reported since its original description from 3 animals that died at the Nandan Kanan Zoo.
