Description of sporocysts and sporozoites: Sporocyst shape: elongate-ovoid to elongate-ellipsoid with thin wall; L x W: 14-16 x 10-12.5; L/W ratio: unknown; SB: absent; SSB: absent; PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: many small diffuse granules throughout sporocyst; SP: round at one end, pointed a the other, 12 x 4.5, with 1 round RB at rounded end of SP. Distinctive features of sporocyst: very thin wall, without SB.

Prevalence: 1/10 (10%)

Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts sporulated in 3% aqueous (w/v) potassium dichromate solution at ~23 C.

Site of infection: Unknown. Oocysts recovered from feces and intestinal contents.

Remarks: Oocysts of this species are similar to those of E. goussevi, but differ in the spheroid shape of the oocyst and the thin, flexible outer wall.
