The genus Mantonella Vincent, 1936 (synonym Yakimovella Gousseff, 1936) includes multiple species characterized by oocysts with one sporocyst, each containing four sporozoites. The three species from invertebrates appear valid, whereas the others most likely represent either pseudoparasites or are the result of improper sporulation conditions for the oocysts.

Mantonella hammondi Wacha & Christiansen, 1976

Host: Kinosternon flavescens spooneri "Mud turtle" (Chelonia: Kinosternidae)
References: Wacha & Christiansen 1974, 1976
Since crayfish comprise a portion of this turtles diet, it seems likely that M. hammondi is a pseudoparasite.

Mantonella meriones Glebezdin 1971

Host: Meriones erythrourus (Rodentia)
References: Glebezdin 1971; Glebezdin & Babich 1974
It is likely that this is a pseudoparasite.

Mantonella peripati Wacha & Christiansen, 1976

Host: Peripatopsis moseleyi, P. sedgwicki (Onychophora)
References: Glebezdin 1971; Glebezdin & Babich 1974

Mantonella podurae Manier & Bouix, 1981

Host: Podura aquatica (Collembola)
References: Manier & Bouix 1981

Mantonella potamobii Gousseff 1936

Synonym: Yakimovella potamobii Gousseff, 1936, nomen preocc.
Host: Astacus leptodactylus (Crustacea)
References: Glebezdin 1971; Glebezdin & Babich 1974

Mantonella sp. Varghese & Yayabu, 1981

Host: Diphyllodes magnificus (Passeriformes)
References: Varghese & Yayabu 1981
Probably a pseudoparasite.
