subspheroid; number of
walls: 2; wall thickness: outer 4, inner 1; wall characteristics: outer is thick,
rough, brownish-yellow; inner, smooth, thin, yellow; L x W: 34.5 x 31.9 (30-38 x
28-36); L/W ratio: 1.1 (1.0-1.2); M: absent; OR: absent; PG: present; number of PG:
1-3; Distinctive features of oocyst: the thick outer wall.
Description of sporocysts and sporozoites:
Sporocyst shape: ellipsoid; L x
W: 14.2 x 11.2 (13-15 x 11-12); L/W ratio: 1.3 (1.2-1.4); SB: present; SSB: absent;
PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: numerous scattered granules; SP:
arranged head-to-tail in sporocyst; the photomicrograph in the original description
suggests each SP may have a large, posterior RB. Distinctive features of sporocyst:
larger than most other sporocysts with small L/W ratio.
Prevalence: 3/8 (37.5 %).
Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts sporulated within 1
wk in 2.5% aqueous potassium dichromate solution at 30ºC.
Prepatent and patent periods: Unknown.
Site of infection: Unknown. Oocysts recovered from
feces.
Material deposited: None.
Remarks: This species has not been reported since
its original description.
