Description of oocyst: Oocyst shape: ovoid to ellipsoid; number of walls: 2; wall thickness 2.0, outer 1.5, inner 0.5; wall characteristics: both smooth; L x W: 24.2 x 21.7 (22-27 x 19-24); L/W ratio: 1.2 (1.1-1.2); M: absent; OR: present; OR characteristics: composed of several round to splinter-like granules loosely held together; PG: absent. Distinctive features of oocyst: OR.

Description of sporocysts and sporozoites: Sporocyst shape: ellipsoid; L x W: 15.3 x 8.1 (15-17 x 8-9); L/W ratio: 1.9 (1.8 x 2.1); SB: present as a protruding, nipple-like body; SSB: absent; PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: composed of numerous, nearly uniform granules scattered around the midregion of the sporocyst; SP: lie head to tail, each with 1 large, clear RB near one end resulting in the appearance of 2 RBs, 1 at each end of the sporocyst. Distinctive features sporocyst: large SR.

Prevalence: 1 of 8 (13%).

Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts were stored in 2.5% (w/v) aqueous potassium dichromate solution at ambient temp. for up to 2 m prior to examination.

Prepatent and patent periods: Unknown.

Site of infection: Unknown. Oocysts found in feces.
